Lynda Mathis, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and relationship problems in adults, adolescents, and children. Dr. Mathis helps people in all age groups achieve happier, healthier lives. Her office is located in Flower Mound on 2499, North of 1171, across from the new hospital.
A goal of Dr. Mathis is to help empower her patients to better understand and recognize their inner strengths, wisdom, and abilities and then use these strengths to make their lives and relationships better. Dr. Mathis has been specially trained to provide treatment demonstrated to be most effective for psychological problems such as anxiety and depression. Anxiety is a normal response to a stressful situation, but if it remains at a high level it can have harmful effects on health and everyday functioning. Untreated anxiety in children and teens can actually set a neurological pattern for continued anxiety and depression which worsens in adulthood and becomes more difficult to treat. Depression can lead to lowered effectiveness at work or school, relationship problems, lowered self-esteem, and the possibility of suicide. Types of treatment found at Dr. Mathis's office include individual therapy for most psychological problems, marital therapy, and counseling for children and teens.
Dr. Mathis also performs complete psychological assessments in adults and children to determine the presence or extent of psychological disorders, learning disorders, ADHD, and personality issues.
Begin the road to mental healing today and call Dr. Mathis for a free 30-minute telephone or office consultation.
